Question 5

What is the difference between a Polaris Slingshot and a motorcycle?

Accepted Answer

The Polaris Slingshot is classified as an autocycle, not a motorcycle. Key differences: three wheels (two in front, one in rear), a steering wheel instead of handlebars, side-by-side seating with seatbelts, and no motorcycle license required in Arizona. It delivers the open-air thrill of a motorcycle with the stability and familiarity of a car.

Question 6

How many people can ride in the Slingshot?

Accepted Answer

The Polaris Slingshot seats exactly two people — driver and one passenger, side by side. It is not possible to add a third passenger. For groups larger than two, contact us about coordinating multiple vehicles.

Question 7

How powerful is the Slingshot?

Accepted Answer

Our Slingshots are powered by a ProStar 2.0L DOHC engine producing 203 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque. 0–60 mph in 4.9 seconds. Top speed of 125 mph. It is genuinely fast and genuinely thrilling.

Question 8

Is the Slingshot safe to drive in Arizona heat?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Slingshot is designed for open-air driving and performs excellently in Arizona's desert climate. We recommend early morning or evening drives during summer months (June–September) for the most comfortable experience. The vehicle is professionally maintained and inspected before every rental.

Question 9

Where do I pick up the Slingshot?

Accepted Answer

Pickup is in Old Town Scottsdale — the heart of the action. The exact pickup address is provided after booking through Turo. We'll walk you through everything before you hit the road, including a full vehicle orientation.

Question 10

Can I drive the Slingshot on the highway and take it on long road trips?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. The Polaris Slingshot is fully highway-legal and handles beautifully at speed. Popular road trips from Scottsdale include Sedona (2 hours), Fountain Hills (30 minutes), Bartlett Lake (45 minutes), Saguaro Lake (30 minutes), and Monument Valley (4 hours). The Slingshot was built for exactly these kinds of drives.

Question 11

What type of gas does a Polaris Slingshot use?

Accepted Answer

Polaris Slingshots require premium unleaded gasoline — 91 octane or higher. Do not use regular unleaded, E85, or other high-ethanol fuels. If you need to refuel during your rental, always select PREMIUM at the pump and choose 91 octane or higher.

Question 12

What is the fuel policy?

Accepted Answer

Return the vehicle with the same fuel level as pickup. Fuel is not included in the booking. Always use premium unleaded — 91 octane or higher. Gas stations are conveniently located near our Old Town Scottsdale pickup location.

Question 13

What happens if it rains on my rental day?

Accepted Answer

The Slingshot is an open-air vehicle, so we recommend avoiding heavy rain. Scottsdale averages 299 sunny days per year, so rain is rare. If weather is a concern, contact us and we'll work with you on rescheduling. Turo's cancellation policy also applies — review the terms at checkout.

Question 14

What protection is available for my Slingshot rental?

Accepted Answer

All bookings are made through Turo. Review available protection plans, costs, and terms when booking on Turo.

Question 15

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellation is handled through Turo's standard cancellation policy. Free cancellation is available up to a certain window before your trip start time — the exact terms are displayed at checkout on Turo. We recommend reviewing the policy before booking.

Question 16

Do you accommodate bachelor and bachelorette parties?

Accepted Answer

Yes — group bookings are one of our specialties. We can coordinate multiple Slingshots for your group and help plan the perfect Scottsdale route. Contact us directly for group coordination, convoy planning, and route recommendations.

Question 17

Can couples rent a Slingshot?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. The Polaris Slingshot seats exactly two — driver and one passenger side by side — making it ideal for couples, date nights, anniversaries, and romantic Scottsdale experiences. Cruise Old Town at sunset, drive the Scottsdale Waterfront, or head out to Sedona for a day trip. It's one of the most memorable date ideas in Scottsdale.

Question 18

Can I take the Slingshot to Sedona from Scottsdale?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the Sedona day trip is one of our most popular routes. The drive from Scottsdale to Sedona takes about 2 hours through Oak Creek Canyon, one of the most scenic roads in America. Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, and the red rock formations are stunning from the open-air cockpit. We recommend leaving early to avoid traffic on AZ-89A.

Question 19

How long should I rent a Slingshot?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your plans. For Old Town Scottsdale and the Waterfront, a half-day or full day is plenty. For Sedona or Saguaro Lake, plan a full day (8–10 hours). For a proper Arizona road trip — Horseshoe Bend, Monument Valley, or the Grand Canyon — a 2–3 day rental gives you the freedom to explore without rushing. Weekend and weekly rates offer better per-day value.

Question 20

What should I bring on my rental day?

Accepted Answer

Bring your valid driver's license (required), a credit card for the Turo booking, sunscreen (the Slingshot is fully open-air), sunglasses, and a hat or cap. For longer drives, bring water — Arizona heat is real. A light jacket is recommended for Sedona or evening drives. Helmets are not legally required for autocycle drivers in Arizona, but you're welcome to bring your own.
